What does the organization do for people in need?
We are a volunteer organization focused on bringing miniature therapy horses to where they are needed most – hospitals, schools, retirement communities and anywhere love is needed.
Why does Mane In Heaven work as well as it does?
Equine therapy is effective because it helps people build trust, communicate, and regulate their emotions. The therapy environment is safe and structured, and the horses and sensitivity to human emotions creates a strong bond between the two.
How does the non-profit operate?
Founded more than a decade ago, Mane in Heaven is a 100 percent volunteer-run, 501C3 organization. We rely on donations and strategic partnerships with entities focused on increasing human wellbeing. We are housed at a private farm in Barrington, IL, and led by a licensed medial professional and horsewoman.
Who does Mane In Heaven serve?
Our in-person programs occur in the Chicagoland area and we occasionally offer opportunities to experience the miniature horses through virtual programs on our social media channels.
